NOBHC works with the child and the family as a unit. The family is taught how to implement the same skills and techniques that the child is learning during their individual psychoeducational sessions. The family is guided through each skill and offered information and the support that is necessary to promote the normalized functioning of the unit as a whole.
NOBHC also offers the family of our clients additional workshops that help to provide support and information related to a wide variety of topics such as Behavior Modification Techniques (Modeling), Calming Skills Implementation (Grounding Techniques), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques, Crisis Situations and other types of emergencies. Families learn about the diagnosis and behavior disorders of their children and how to present interventions and activities at could be used to address and lessen those behaviors.
